Job Summary
This position will be responsible for the maintenance of locks, keys and security systems and ensuring that all security devices are in adequate working condition.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, repair and replace all lock systems for campus buildings, apartments, equipment and property
- Cut and issue keys to faculty, staff and students
- Install cylinders in locks
- Pick lock, change settings of locks, open safes and respond to emergency locksmith needs throughout campus
- Maintain daily record of time and materials used on projects
- Maintain records to accurately reflect key losses
- Repair, rebuild and replace glass doors, door closures, floor hinges and other hardware
- Follow all safety and other risk management policies in performance of work
- Attend safety meetings
- Maintain, repair and clean tools, equipment and work areas
Educational Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Two (2) or more years of related work experience
$18.12 - $22.21 per hour
This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.

ABILITIES
- Consistently exhibit engaging customer service
- Ability to support various constituencies served by the University
- Proven proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office, Google, and/or applications as required for specific position
- Ability to read and understand construction plans and work order instructions
- Adhere to University policies and procedures to meet Institutional goals and support University's mission for student success
- Extensive knowledge of locks including:
design,
construction,
installation,
maintenance,
operation, and
repair - Knowledge of rebuilding all types of locks, locking devices, panic door devices and door checks
- Effective communication (verbal and written), organizational and human relations skills
- Experience with operation of locksmith tools, key code systems and door hardware specifications
- Skill in operating key cutting machines, drill presses, milling machines, and other related equipment and hand tools
- Attentive to detail
