Job Summary
The Department of History is now accepting applications for part‑time faculty positions to support the undergraduate program in teaching surveys of United States History and World History for the 2025–2026 academic year. These positions are on an as needed, semester‑by‑semester basis.
Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate courses in the Core IMPACTS areas (World History I and/or II and US History: A Comprehensive Survey).
- Applicants may be asked to teach in various modalities (face‑to‑face, hybrid, and online).
- Master’s degree in History or a closely related degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in History.
- Classroom instruction experience in higher education.
- Earned Ph.D. in History.
- Ability to teach a variety of undergraduate courses.
A complete application consists of a letter addressing the qualifications cited above; a curriculum vitae; and the names, addresses, telephone numbers, and email addresses of at least three professional references. Transcripts may be requested.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities- Consistently exhibit engaging customer service.
- Ability to support various constituencies served by the University.
- Proven proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office, Google, and/or applications as required for the specific position.
- Effective communication (verbal and written), organizational, and human relations skills.
- Adhere to University policies and procedures to meet institutional goals and support the University mission for student success.
