Department InformationThe Department of Biochemistry, Chemistry, and Physics is housed in the College of Science and Mathematics. It offers three Bachelor of Science degrees—two ACS‑certified majors in chemistry and biochemistry, and one major in physics with five concentrations. The department also offers a Master of Science in Applied Physical Science with concentrations in pharmaceutical science and materials/coatings science, and participates in a Ph.D. in Environmental Science program.
The department has 51 faculty (40 tenure‑track, 10 lecturer, 1 visiting, 7 staff) and is rapidly increasing its externally funded research activities. Facilities include a 47,000‑square‑foot research and teaching building on the Statesboro campus and a similar facility on the Armstrong campus.
The Department of Biochemistry, Chemistry and Physics is accepting applications for a pool of part‑time faculty positions for the academic year 2025‑2026. These positions are on an as‑needed, semester‑by‑semester basis and are based in the state of Georgia.
Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate chemistry courses, including introductory chemistry laboratories.
- Teach in various modalities (face‑to‑face, hybrid, and online) as required.
- MS in Chemistry, Applied Physical Sciences, or a closely related field with at least 18 graduate semester hours in chemistry or physical sciences.
- Experience teaching introductory chemistry laboratories.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
