Assistant/Associate Athletic Director of Media Relations

Purpose:
To uphold the qualities, principles and standards of Wagner College, the Northeast Conference and NCAA. Create a positive working environment as well as generate revenue, fundraise and put a team on the playing field that the Wagner community can be proud of. To assist in the process in recruiting quality student-athletes to the campus.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
* Provide information (stories, stats, etc.) of all 27 sports to campus and Staten Island community
* Manage media relations for 27 varsity sports
* Reach out to local, regional and national media outlets with Wagner stories
* Write and distribution press releases
* Manage Athletics Publication - Sport-specific
* Media Guides
* Game Programs and Notes
* Ticket Brochures
* Manage the Athletic website - content and design
* Inclusion of any and all sport-specific game articles, features, statistics, photos and coach/player bios
* Train, supervise and manage graduate assistants and interns in marketing office
* Schedule and oversee session and in-game photography
* Committee member for Hall of Fame Committee
* Departmental liaison to Office of Communications
* Game Coverage as required for home athletic events
* Coordinate and oversee game-day operations fro Sports Information coverage
Brief Overall
Description:
Responsible for the management, supervision, oversight, and administration of all aspects of sports information. Responsibilities will include but not limited to: handling of sports media relations for 26 Varsity Intercollegiate Sports, maintain and provide supervision for college's Athletics Website, developing media guides and supporting materials, produce press releases, pitch athletics stories to local and regional media, possibly hometown features for student-athletes, compiling and distributing stats for individuals, coaching staff members and teams and managing press areas for home games.
Manage, recruit, and train, assistant sports information directors and student staffing. Provide oversight to the organization of the team and departmental photography. This person will also coordinate the department's Hall of Fame Committee and serve as departmental liaison to the college's Office of Communications. This position requires afternoon, night, and weekend hours combined with business hours.

Qualifications:
Work Experience:
2-4 years of experience in a related field
Education:
Undergraduate Degree Required / Master's Degree Preferred

This position requires an individual of high moral character. In accordance with the NCAA Bylaw 11.1, any athletic department employee who is found in violation of NCAA regulations shall be subject to disciplinary or corrective action as set forth in the provisions of the NCAA enforcement procedures. This may include suspension with out pay, or termination if the employee is found to be involved in deliberate and serious violations of NCAA regulations.
