Ophthalmologist - Surgical Retina Specialist
SCHEDULE:

COMPENSATION:
- $350,000 to $450,000 Starting Salary, negotiable based on experience

Annadale, Staten Island, New York
COMPANY PROFILE:
This organization is the largest physician-led outpatient medical practice in the greater New York City metro area with more than 35 offices serving 500,000 patients per year. In addition to robust primary care offerings, they also operate specialty service lines in cardiology, pediatrics, dermatology, endocrinology, podiatry, behavioral health, and much more. Their staff of more than 400 physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants are supported by dedicated team members, with resources such as on-site laboratory and radiology services.
They also have affiliations with local hospitals for surgical and related services. They are currently hiring due to growth.
POSITION
DESCRIPTION:
This is an excellent opportunity for an ophthalmologist with subspecialty training in surgical retina to provide high-quality services in a well-supported group practice environment with a built-in referral base.
Specific duties of the role include, but are not limited to:
- evaluate, diagnose, and provide treatment for vitro-retinal conditions
- treat retinal diseases such as diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, etc.
- perform retinal examinations
- review patient histories
- order / interpret tests (OCT, photos, fluorescein angiograms, etc.)
- prescribe medications
- formulate ongoing treatment and management plans
- collaborate with PCPs, optometrists, and ophthalmologists
- communicate with the clinical team to ensure total delivery of quality care
The new ophthalmologist will perform both office-based procedures and outpatient surgical procedures, including:
- intravitreal injections
- focal and pan-retinal photocoagulation
- laser of retinal tears
- pars plana vitrectomy
- scleral buckling
- epiretinal membrane peeling
- macular hole repair
A variable number of patients per day are seen, based upon setting, physician preference, and patient needs.
All visits are prepped and supported by dedicated clinical assistants.
The practice uses the Epic EHR.
REQUIREMENTS:
- New York medical license
- DEA
- Board Certification / Eligibility, Ophthalmology
- Fellowship, Retinal Surgery
