We are searching for a skilled and physically capable Finish and Trim Carpenter with commercial construction experience, OSHA 10 certification preferred, and strong expertise in finish carpentry techniques, blueprint reading, and teamwork to join our team full‑time team in State College, PA.
Duties and Responsibilities- Measure, cut, fabricate, and install trim, panels, doors, cabinetry, partitions, and other finish carpentry elements according to commercial project specifications.
- Work with a variety of building materials, including specialty woods, composite materials, and fire‑rated products common in commercial environments.
- Interpret and execute commercial blueprints, architectural drawings, and project documentation.
- Install architectural woodwork, casework, and custom built‑ins in high‑traffic and complex commercial settings.
- Coordinate with project managers, site supervisors, and other trades (electricians, HVAC, drywall, etc.) to maintain efficient construction timelines and resolve on‑site challenges.
- Ensure installations meet applicable building codes, ADA standards, fire safety regulations, and client requirements for durability and finish.
- Repair, replace, and upgrade existing woodwork in occupied or operational commercial spaces with minimal disruption.
- Conduct site assessments, prepare take‑offs, and participate in pre‑installation planning as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Minimum of two years of related experience in finish carpentry
- Current OSHA 10‑hour certification preferred
- Can safely lift up to 60 pounds, climb ladders, stairs, and climb out of ditches
- Must wear proper protective equipment at all times
- Advanced knowledge of finish carpentry techniques and commercial construction standards
- Excellent troubleshooting, adaptation, and quality control skills for complex, fast‑paced projects
- Proficient with hand and power tools
- Strong understanding of commercial construction documents (blueprints, specs, submittals)
