The ideal candidate is a hands‑on field leader with strong concrete experience who takes ownership of safety, quality, and crew performance while delivering work to the highest standards.
Duties and Responsibilities- Supervise and perform all phases of commercial concrete work, including slab on grade, elevated cast‑in‑place decks, slab on deck, concrete placing, finishing, and rebar installation.
- Ensure cast‑in‑place concrete walls are constructed in accordance with drawings, specifications, and quality standards, from formwork through final placement.
- Lead and manage job site safety for yourself and all crew members; coordinate with the Field Superintendent to address and resolve safety concerns.
- Plan, organize, and sequence concrete placing and finishing operations to ensure proper timing and quality.
- Coordinate concrete pump trucks, deliveries, and material quantities to align with the projects strategic goals.
- Maintain clean, safe, and well‑organized work areas and equipment.
- Set, check, and maintain grades and elevations, including the use of lasers, levels, and other layout tools.
- Perform other related job duties as assigned.
- Minimum of five years of leading concrete related commercial construction projects required
- Former experience as a concrete finisher is preferred
- Current OSHA 10-hour certification preferred
- Can safely lift up to 60 pounds, climb ladders, stairs, and climb out of ditches
- Must wear proper protective equipment at all times
- Ability to read and apply project drawings, grades, and elevations
- Proficient in all concrete finishing tools and equipment, including bull floats, hand tools for edging, trowels, screeds, lasers, and finishing blades
- Strong knowledge of construction safety protocols, including OSHA standards
- Concrete finishing timing, sequencing, and quality control
- Crew supervision, labor management, and task delegation
- Material planning, quantity takeoffs, and coordination of deliveries
- Strong communication, leadership, and team‑building skills
- High attention to detail and adherence to quality standards
