Role Description
The Director of Sales is responsible for driving top‑line revenue growth through proactive sales strategies, relationship development, and market positioning for both hotel brands. This leadership role oversees sales efforts across corporate, group, extended‑stay, and local accounts while collaborating closely with hotel operations and ownership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to maximize occupancy, ADR, and RevPAR
- Identify, solicit, and manage key corporate, group, government, and extended‑stay accounts
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local businesses, Penn State‑related organizations, and regional partners
- Lead all sales initiatives including prospecting, contract negotiation, and account retention
- Analyze market trends, competitive sets, and demand drivers to adjust sales strategies
- Manage RFPs, local negotiated rates, and account production tracking
- Collaborate with General Manager and Revenue Management to align pricing and sales goals
- Represent the hotels at networking events, trade shows, and community functions
- Prepare and present sales reports, forecasts, and performance updates to ownership
- Ensure compliance with IHG brand standards and sales systems
Qualifications
- Minimum 2–3 years of hotel sales experience
, preferably in a Director of Sales or senior sales role - Experience with dual‑brand or multi‑property hotels strongly preferred
- Proven track record of driving revenue growth and managing key accounts
- Strong knowledge of hotel sales metrics (ADR, RevPAR, occupancy)
- Experience with IHG systems, sales platforms, and CRM tools preferred
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills
- Highly organized, self‑motivated, and results‑driven
- Ability to travel locally and work flexible hours as required
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business, or related field preferred
