Critical Care Nurse

Schedule

This position requires working three 12-hour shifts on the night schedule from 1845 to 0715, with every other weekend and holiday.

Job Description

The Critical Care Nurse is responsible for providing professional nursing care to critically ill patients across all age populations, from pediatric to geriatric. This role involves assessing patients' needs, developing a comprehensive plan of care, implementing nursing measures, and evaluating the effectiveness of care provided. The Critical Care Nurse will recognize cardiac arrhythmias and respond appropriately in life-threatening emergency situations, adhering to the standards set by the American Association of Critical Care Nursing (AACN).

Responsibilities

• Conduct ongoing assessments of critically ill patients to promote optimal outcomes.

• Perform comprehensive health history and physical assessments.

• Prioritize patient problems and develop a plan of care based on ongoing assessments.

• Manage life-threatening complications in accordance with established policies and procedures.

• Establish interventions to prevent complications and maintain hemodynamic stability.

• Maintain accountability for knowledge and skills in critical care practices and standards.

• Complete mandatory education and participate in annual competency fairs.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current nursing license and certifications as required.

• Preference will be given to candidates with prior EPIC experience.
