Foxdale Village includes 57 apartments and 148 cottages and offers a range of health services with 46 beds in skilled nursing for short and long‑term care, two memory care neighborhoods, and 55 beds in personal care, all with private accommodations.

Description

We are seeking a full‑time Maintenance Specialist to work as part of our dedicated maintenance team. The position requires 40 hours per week, 8 am‑4:30 pm Monday‑Friday, with a rotating weekend/holiday schedule.

Job Summary

Responsible for maintaining Community Building heating and cooling systems, appliances, and various other systems requiring maintenance.

Essential Job Functions
  • Check and maintain the Community Building and apartment heating and cooling systems on a regular basis.
  • Repair appliances as needed.
  • Maintain communications and sensor systems.
  • Maintain natural gas lines.
  • Test the sprinkler system for adequate water pressure and leaks.
  • Monitor the hot water temperature to ensure that a 110 degree level is maintained and a 180 degree temperature is maintained for the dishwasher.
  • Assist with therapy pool maintenance, as needed.
  • Use electronic work order system to complete work orders in a timely manner.
  • Assist in resident Health Center moves.
  • Prepare community common space areas for various activities.
  • Serve in an on‑call status to respond to mechanical system problems.
  • Mow lawns and assist Grounds as needed.
  • Serve in an on‑call status during inclement weather and assist in snow removal as needed.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance in order to meet the maintenance needs of the community.

Qualifications
  • Education:

    High school diploma or its equivalent is preferred.
  • Experience:

    Hold Mechanic level proficiency in two of the following skills and the ability to train to mechanic proficiency in the remaining areas:
    Heating and Refrigeration, Plumbing, Electrical, Mechanical systems, Carpentry and Concrete. Three to five years’ experience is preferred, along with experience with commercial and residential buildings.
  • The ability to read and interpret architectural plans, schematic drawings, etc. is also preferred.
  • Language:
    Must be able to effectively communicate in English.
  • Math:
    Must be able to complete tasks using basic mathematical skills.
  • Computer:
    Basic computer skills preferred.
  • Training:
    On‑site training is provided.
Physical Requirements
  • Seeing:
    Must be able to read.
  • Hearing:
    Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with co‑workers.
  • Dexterity:
    Must be able to write, use a telephone, and operate various tools and machinery needed to complete tasks.
  • Strength:
    Must be able to bend, stoop, and lift at least one‑hundred pounds (with assistance when needed). This position requires the completion of non‑sedentary work.
