Job Description:

Prepare patients for examinations, explain procedures and respond to patient questions. Perform diagnostic procedures for patients as ordered by physicians.

Responsibilities:

• Perform patient care/technical duties and procedures accurately and timely.
• Greet patients, review requests, evaluate orders for appropriate exams.
• Prepare and position patients for examinations.
• Operate radiologic equipment safely and efficiently.
• Move portable radiographic equipment for procedures within various departments.
• Use proper sterile technique during examinations.
• Prepare and administer IV and Oral contrast media as needed.
• Document patient symptoms and procedure details in PACS.
• Maintain room assignments, ensuring cleanliness and organization.
• Apply radiation safety practices and promote patient and staff safety.
• Provide customer service and assist with clerical duties as needed.
• Comply with and perform quality assurance duties.

Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a specialized training program in Radiological Technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Registered with the ARRT in Radiology.
• Meets the American Heart Association's standards for Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) and renews BLS every two years.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and radiologic equipment and procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively and follow instructions and procedures.
