Job Description:

The RN is responsible for assessing and responding to the individual physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs of patients through personal observation and interaction, acting as a patient advocate and utilizing professional nursing skills and judgment to provide care.

Responsibilities:

• Assesses and responds to patient needs through observation and interaction.
• Implements nursing care to treat identified problems.
• Communicates patient assessments to coordinate care.
• Demonstrates knowledge of diagnostic measures and skills in IV therapy.
• Transcribes and implements physician orders accurately and timely.
• Documents patient records accurately and efficiently.
• Provides patient and family education.
• Decrements supplies according to policy and contains costs effectively.
• Assists with housekeeping duties as needed.
• Provides appropriate care in PACU, maintaining critical thinking.
• Familiar with patient transfer procedures.
• Maintains communication and assists staff as a float nurse.
• Works in pain management and eye laser procedure rooms as assigned.
• Familiar with anesthesia supplies and emergency protocols.
• Participates in committee meetings and seeks guidance as needed.
