Qualifications Needed

Must be 18 years of age or older.

Must possess a High School diploma.

Must be able to physically assist individuals to safety in an emergency situation.

Must demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate, both receptively and expressively, with individuals and co-workers.

Obtain a physical examination as required by ODP.

Obtain Pennsylvania criminal history check, FBI criminal history check, and Child Abuse clearances in accordance with regulations.

Demonstrated ability to adhere to the required schedule for the job.

Must be able to provide/attain transportation to and from work as scheduled.

Demonstrated ability to work independently and complete job responsibilities.

Responsibilities
  • Should individuals awaken during the night, evaluate the situation and assist, as needed, for them to return to bed.
  • Provide an environment that ensures the health and safety of the individuals; be able to physically assist individuals to safety in an emergency.
  • Participate in fire drills held during the night.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and strict adherence to TAPP, especially regarding: confidentiality, attendance, unusual incidents/incidents, documentation, abuse, and restrictive procedures.
  • Maintain a positive and cooperative relationship with individuals, co-workers, supervisors, and families.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with the immediate supervisor concerning health issues, programmatic issues, unusual situations, and potential problems.
  • Attend and actively participate in training sessions per regulations and TAPP. Twenty-four hours of training are required annually.
  • Attend and actively participate in staff meetings as requested by the immediate supervisor or Training Coordinator. This would only be necessary if something extremely important is being discussed that would affect this position.
Additional Information
  • As necessary, meet with management at a mutually convenient time to discuss work-related issues.
  • Report to work on time and complete all shifts as scheduled. The appropriate process must be utilized to obtain schedule changes/days off.
  • Demonstrate high professional and ethical standards in all aspects of the job.
