Position: (USA) Member Team Lead

Base pay range

$20.00/hr - $28.00/hr

Position Summary

Assists management with the supervision of associates and performs numerous responsibilities related to member service, membership processing, merchandising, accounting, compliance, and team coordination in a Sam's Club environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assist management with the supervision of associates in the assigned area of responsibility by assigning duties, communicating goals and feedback, training associates on processes and procedures, providing direction and guidance on member service approaches, ensuring member complaints and issues are resolved per company guidelines, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, supporting the Open Door Policy, and participating in recruiting, hiring, scheduling, promoting, coaching, and evaluating associates.
  • Communicate and support membership by providing information on membership types, programs and benefits to current and prospective members, processing memberships, upgrades and credit accounts, encouraging membership renewals, participating in sales and marketing events, completing and maintaining marketing recaps and required documentation, striving to meet membership goals, and promoting the value of Sam's Club products and services.
  • Provide and ensure member service by acknowledging the member and identifying member needs; assisting members with purchasing decisions; locating merchandise; providing guidance and support regarding self-service technology; assisting members with transactions utilizing registers or self-checkout; ensuring club pickup orders are filled.
  • Oversee the assigned area of responsibility by handling claims and returns; zoning the area; arranging and organizing merchandise; identifying shrink and damages; organizing and maintaining availability of carts/flatbeds; assisting members with transporting items; utilizing cart retrieval equipment per company policies; and maintaining parking lot cleanliness.
  • Complete accounting records, files, transactions, and other required documentation by following accounting office procedures; providing funds for register operation; creating and interpreting financial analysis reports; assisting with accounting-related investigations; preparing daily deposits; preparing and overseeing Cash Fund Transfers; investigating overages and shortages; maintaining confidentiality and accuracy of financial and personal information.
  • Develop, communicate, and implement processes and practices to meet business needs by collaborating with managers, co-workers, customers, and other partners; analyzing and applying information from multiple sources; monitoring progress and results; identifying and addressing improvement opportunities.
  • Demonstrate, promote, and support compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity; explaining, guiding, and demonstrating how to apply these; implementing action plans; using the Open Door Policy; assisting management with correcting ethical and compliance issues.
  • Lead and participate in teams by sharing resources, information, and tools; determining customer needs and priorities; coordinating and executing work assignments; providing advice, feedback, and support to ensure timelines and work quality; modeling and helping others adapt to change or new challenges.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 6 months retail experience including operating front-end equipment (e.g., cash register) and 6 months customer service experience.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Leading a front-end team, supervising experience including hiring, evaluating, mentoring, developing and managing the workload of others.
