RN-PACU

Job Summary:

Responsible for professional nursing care of all assigned patients in accordance with established standards of care and within the scope of the current Nurse Practice Act. The RN is responsible for meeting physical, psychosocial and emotional needs of patients assigned to his/her care. The RN is responsible for maintaining patient's medical record with proper documentation of nursing observation and actions taken.

The RN delegates and coordinates rendered nursing care. Utilizing nursing process, the RN is responsible for maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment at all times.

• Provide professional nursing care for all assigned patients in accordance with established standards of care and the Nurse Practice Act.
• Meet the physical, psychosocial and emotional needs of patients in care.
• Maintain the patient9s medical record with documentation of nursing observations and actions taken.
• Delegate and coordinate rendered nursing care.
• Utilize the nursing process to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment at all times.

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Current licensure as a registered nurse by the Mississippi Board of Nursing
• Current BLS certification
• Maintains ACLS and PALS certification
• Demonstration of recent and relevant nursing experience
• Ability to meet daily physical demands of the job
• Cognitive ability to follow directions

• Responsible to PACU Supervisor following OCH chain of command.
