Financial Controller

We are working with a well-established multi-site business that is looking to appoint a Financial Controller to lead its day-to-day finance operations. This is a senior, hands-on role with responsibility across management reporting, financial control, payroll, and audit, while partnering closely with operational and commercial teams. The Financial Controller will take ownership of the monthly management accounts and ensure accurate and timely reporting across the group.

You will lead budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow management and provide detailed financial analysis across revenue, margins, and operating costs. A key part of the role will involve maintaining strong financial controls and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal policies. You will manage payroll operations across multiple sites and act as the main point of contact for external auditors, supporting the preparation of statutory accounts and ensuring audit requirements are met.

The role will also involve driving process and system improvements and developing a small finance team to improve efficiency and engagement. This position offers genuine scope for progression and would suit an ambitious Financial Controller who is looking to develop toward a future Finance Director role. What is required? You will be a fully qualified accountant with strong post-qualification experience.

You will have experience working in a multi-site or operationally focused environment. You will be confident overseeing management accounts, payroll, audit, and financial control.
