Budgeting, forecasting, and month-end will still be your bread and butter, but the standout here is process improvement. They've grown fast and the finance function needs refining - better reporting, slicker month-end, smarter systems. There's also plenty of scope to work cross-functionally. Ops, sales, even IT - you'll have a seat at the table when decisions are made, not just a P&L to reconcile afterwards.

To do this well, you'll already be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with experience in a management accountant or similar role. You'll need confidence with systems and reporting tools, plus a keen eye for process optimisation. If you've worked in a business that's scaled up or transformed its finance function, even better.
