Financial Controller

Palatine Talent are proud to be exclusively partnering with Christian Aid to recruit a Financial Operations Lead (Financial Controller) for their finance team based in Warrington. Working in a newly created, influential role, reporting to the Head of Finance (based in London), your remit will include:
Heading a team of 4, leading from the front and ensuring the efficient and compliant management of Christian Aid’s financial operations, including transaction processing, statutory reporting, treasury management and procurement. Developing a modern and effective financial controls and procedures to meet the evolving needs of the charity. Management of restricted funds and supporting the organisation’s strategic objectives. Driving strategic oversight for restricted funds management.

Leading the statutory reporting & audit coordination processes. Lead the VAT compliance and tax efficient reporting processes. Owning the Treasury & Cash Flow management - ensuring accurate forecasting, liquidity controls, and effective treasury operations across multi-currency environments. Leading procurement processes. Working in collaboration to ensure the effective management of the financial information from multi-country clusters to ensure accurate consolidated reporting.

Providing assistance and support to ensure high value impact in relation to the transition from outsourced to in-house finance operations. Applicants should be fully Qualified CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or CIPFA professionals with comprehensive experience in delivering optimum financial controls and within a complex international NGO or multi-entity organisation environment. You will have experience in treasury management, statutory reporting, VAT compliance, and will ideally have donor regulations experience.

Previous experience of leading and developing a finance function is essential as is having the personality and gravitas to partner with a broad, global profile of colleagues and the drive to add real value and make a difference. Salary of £56-58k with a comprehensive benefits suite including 10% pension, 25 days Hols (increasing to 31 with service)  Bank Holidays, Holiday purchase scheme, 35 hours per week, Flexitime, Hybrid working (minimum 2 days per week in the office). Applicants must have full and indefinite eligibility to work in the UK (through being a UK citizen or having gained ILR) and should live within a sensible commute of Warrington.
