Senior Accountant – Accountancy Practice

Hertfordshire Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent REED are seeking a qualified and experienced Senior Accountant to join our clients dynamic and growing accountancy practice. This client-facing role offers the opportunity to manage a diverse portfolio of clients, lead junior team members, and contribute to the delivery of high-quality accounting and advisory services. Day-to-day of the role:
Prepare and review statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders in accordance with UK GAAP and FRS 102. Manage a portfolio of clients across various sectors, acting as their main point of contact. Oversee and review bookkeeping, VAT returns, and management accounts prepared by junior staff. Provide business and tax advice to clients, including cash flow forecasting and budgeting support.

Liaise with HMRC and other regulatory bodies on behalf of clients. Support the onboarding of new clients and contribute to business development activities. Mentor and supervise junior team members, providing training and performance feedback. Required Skills &

Qualifications:

ACCA or ACA qualified (or equivalent). Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in a UK accountancy practice. Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards and tax regulations. Excellent communication and client relationship management skills. Proficient in accounting software such as Xero, Quick Books, Sage, or IRIS. Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently. Desirable:

Experience with cloud-based accounting systems and digital transformation. Familiarity with practice management software. Benefits:
