We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Manager to lead a major long-term civil engineering package in Newcastle. The project is primarily focused on roads, sewers and drainage infrastructure and requires a strong technical background in deep drainage and adoptable sewer works.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for delivering a comprehensive civils package including Section 104 adoptable sewers, deep and shallow drainage systems, attenuation tanks, storm and foul networks, service coordination, groundworks and associated infrastructure. While elements of road construction are included, the core of this role centres on sewer installation, drainage quality control and infrastructure delivery.

This role is ideally suited to a Site Manager with proven experience delivering roads and sewers packages through to adoption, with particular emphasis on drainage operations, testing, inspections and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

* Day-to-day management of roads, sewers and drainage works

* Overseeing deep drainage operations and service installations

* Coordination and supervision of subcontractors and direct labour

* Ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and within budget

* Liaising with clients, consultants, utilities and water authorities regarding inspections and approvals

* Managing quality assurance documentation, testing and as-built records

* Maintaining high health and safety standards, including RAMS, permits and toolbox talks

* Reporting progress to the Contracts Manager or Project Manager

Requirements

* Demonstrable experience managing roads and sewers infrastructure packages

* Strong technical understanding of drainage systems and adoptable sewer standards (Section 104)

* Experience delivering infrastructure works within residential or commercial developments

* SMSTS

* CSCS (Black or Gold preferred)

* First Aid at Work

* Strong organisational and communication skills
