Clinical Research Coordinator 2
Join Stanford University School of Medicine and the Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative, and Pain Medicine. The Department excels in comprehensive patient care, pain management, critical care, and cutting‑edge research. We are seeking a Clinical Research Coordinator 2 to lead and independently manage research projects focused on pain and pain management in the perioperative period.
Duties Include- Oversee subject recruitment and study enrollment goals; develop effective recruitment strategies and retain participants in long‑term clinical trials.
- Manage data for research projects, develop and maintain systems to organize, collect, report, and monitor data. Extract, analyze, and interpret data.
- Develop project schedules, targets, measurements, and accountabilities; lead team meetings and prepare/minute approvals.
- Formally supervise, train and/or mentor new staff or students; assist with hiring, performance evaluations, and related duties.
- Audit laboratory and other operations to ensure compliance; implement corrective actions. Monitor Institutional Review Board submissions and respond to inquiries.
- Collaborate with principal investigators and sponsors; monitor and report serious adverse events and resolve study queries.
- Determine, recommend, and implement improvements to policies/processes; define best practices.
- Develop study budget with staff and principal investigators; track milestones and invoice sponsors per contract.
- Ensure regulatory compliance; inspect study documents for ongoing regulatory adherence.
- Coordinate Investigational New Drug applications and Institutional Review Board renewals.
- Be willing to work extended or unusual hours, including weekends and early/late shifts as required by research demands.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least two years of clinical research experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database applications.
- Experience with research protocols and regulatory bodies including HIPAA, FDA regulations, Institutional Review Board requirements, and Good Clinical Practices.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Society of Clinical Research Associates or Association of Clinical Research Professionals certification preferred.
- Frequently stand, walk, twist, bend, stoop, squat, and use fine light/fine grasping.
- Occasionally sit, reach above shoulders, perform desk‑based computer tasks, use telephone, write by hand, lift, carry, push, and pull objects up to 40 pounds.
- Rarely kneel, crawl, climb ladders, grasp forcefully, sort and file paperwork or parts; rarely lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing 40 pounds or more.

CompensationExpected pay range: $86,248 – $100,158 per annum. Salary will be based on experience, qualifications, departmental budget, and market conditions. Comprehensive benefits are described at Cardinal at Work.
