Overview

The Department of Urology at Stanford University School of Medicine seeks a fellowship-trained urologic oncologist to join our expanding East Bay Cancer Care Program. The position will be based at the Stanford Medicine - Sutter Health Cancer Center in Oakland, CA, a joint venture that will serve as a central hub for comprehensive, multidisciplinary cancer care. The newly built Center features outpatient clinic space, ambulatory surgery, infusion treatment area, diagnostic radiology, and radiation oncology facilities.

Inpatient surgical care will be provided primarily at the adjacent Alta Bates Summit Medical Center.

The candidate must have completed a Society of Urologic Oncology (SUO)-certified oncology fellowship. Prior practice experience in an academic-affiliated program or private practice is highly valued. The successful candidate will establish a robust, sub-specialized clinical program with a multidisciplinary approach, working closely with medical and radiation oncologists in the Center. They will be supported by a team of inpatient/outpatient advanced practice providers (APPs) and 24-hour hospitalist coverage.

Emergency room coverage is not mandatory, except for established or postoperative patients. The position offers opportunities to participate in the education of fellows and residents and to participate in clinical research programs.

Strong integration with the main Stanford campus in Palo Alto will be prioritized through hybrid faculty meetings, grand rounds, tumor boards, as well as research and teaching conferences. Ample access to clinical and academic mentorship will be available through the broader Stanford Urology Department and Stanford Cancer Center communities.
