QualificationsThe Transportation Planner role requires experience with Transportation Management Software, specifically:
- Mercury Gate Transportation Management System (TMS) or relevant software,
- SAP,
- Knowledge of logistics costs,
- Responsibility for daily management of finished goods transport movement and freight payables,
- Transformation of orders (SAP delivery notes) into loads for tender, also known as “Load Management”,
- Creation of master billed loads (multiple orders on one BOL), consideration of low-cost modes in relation to transit time,
- Order maintenance including due dates, weights, etc.,
- Use of TMS each morning to identify “No Shows” for carrier follow-up.
