We’re looking for a skilled and adaptable Java developer to join our portfolio analytics engineering team as an individual contributor. In this role, you’ll help build and maintain modern, scalable services using Java and Spring Boot on AWS, while also supporting critical legacy systems. You’ll collaborate directly with portfolio managers, translating business needs into technical solutions, performing ad‑hoc analysis, and helping onboard new Python‑based workflows.

What You’ll Do- Design, develop, and deploy robust, maintainable Java/Spring Boot services in containerized environments on AWS
- Support and enhance existing legacy systems alongside modern microservices
- Partner directly with portfolio managers to understand requirements, explain system behavior, and deliver timely solutions, often under tight deadlines
- Contribute to the integration of new Python‑based analytics workflows (experience with Num Py/Pandas is a plus)
- Balance immediate business needs with long‑term system health by making pragmatic, well‑reasoned trade‑offs
- Work iteratively in an agile environment with frequent releases and close business collaboration
- 5+ years of professional software development experience (ideally 6–8+ years)
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field
- Expertise in Java and Spring Boot
- Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases (Postgre
SQL, SQL Server, or similar) - Familiarity with RESTful/service‑oriented architectures
- Experience with modern dev tools:
Git, Jira, Jenkins (or equivalents)
- Hands‑on experience with Python, Num Py, and Pandas
- Exposure to financial instruments, portfolio math, or risk/return analytics
- Excellent communication—able to explain technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders
- Curious and collaborative mindset with a focus on learning and team success
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, agile setting with evolving priorities
