** RATE RANGE:** $44.06 - $52.07
*** Job Summary
*** This is a DOT safety-sensitive position. Any applicant applying to this position from a non-safety sensitive position will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
*** Key Responsibilities
**** Operates all types of vehicles owned by the Company, either with or without any type of trailer attached.
* Follows written and/or verbal orders to obtain, load, deliver and unload materials of all sorts.
* Patches ditch and restores worked areas to proper order after completion of jobs.
* Keeps vehicle assigned in good order and reports any necessary repairs.
* Performs duties of Distribution Fitter B and does other miscellaneous work as required.
* Installs and grades plastic & steel mains, services lines and install leak clamps in accordance with CNG’s installation standards.
* Prepares for, and installs, various types of mechanical fittings used to install & repair all types of main & service piping.
* Operates pneumatic paving breakers, jackhammers, tampers, compressors, high pressure and service pressure tapping equipment and other tools in a safe manner.
* Keeps vehicles, equipment & hand tools clean and orderly.
* Performs all types of manual labor and other miscellaneous work, as required.
* Learns and assists in duties of higher classification, as to qualify for promotions.
* Performs the above in accordance with safety practices of the Company.
* Performs other related work as required.
*** Required Qualifications
**** Must be able to read, write and speak English effectively.
* Must be able to understand and follow oral & written instructions.
* Must be physically able to perform the duties required.
* Must have a good degree of mechanical aptitude.
* Must be able to use basic computer functions and use electronic tablets (filing timesheets, accessing safety videos and trainings, accessing MS Outlook to read/respond emails etc.)
* Must have a CDL-B driver’s license and qualify to obtain a CDL-A within 6 months of being hired
* Must have and maintain a good driving record and have demonstrated ability to drive all types of vehicles owned by the company, with or without trailers attached, in a safe and proper manner.
* Must be willing and able to successfully complete Company sponsored training programs in the Operator Qualification program within the 2-year progression period.
* Have knowledge of geographical layout of territory served by CNG.
* Must live within or close to CNG Greenwich service territory.
* Must be willing to work overtime and on-call as needed.
