Base pay range: $75,000.00/yr - $90,000.00/yr
NBC Sports is looking for a Senior Analyst to tell the story of the “why” and the “what” behind sports media consumption. The Senior Analyst will work in a highly visible role, leveraging sports content analytics to deliver actionable insights and analyses to stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Reporting to the Senior Director of NBC Sports Decision Sciences, the Senior Analyst will be responsible for driving data‑led decisions that inform content strategy, programming, marketing, ad sales, finance, and acquisitions.
The role consists of developing insights across the NBC Sports portfolio, including the Olympics, the NFL & Sunday Night Football, NBA, Big Ten, Notre Dame, U.S. Open, Open Championship, Ryder Cup, FIFA World Cup, and Premier League.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret NBC Sports’ consumption data across all TV & Streaming platforms, including Peacock, providing topline and detailed analyses of the audience within NBCU and the broader media landscape.
- Triangulate multiple data points (e.g., national and local TV metrics, streaming data, qualitative insights) to craft an impactful narrative around cross‑platform sports property consumption.
- Analyze 1st and 3rd party data sets from NBC Sports and competitive sports programming to develop insights that drive content, programming, sales, finance, marketing, and acquisition decision‑making.
- Proactively create and synthesize complex analyses into digestible presentations for key stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Present and communicate performance results and findings to all levels of the organization, positioning analyses in a creative and concise manner.
- Generate ad‑hoc analyses to answer critical and time‑sensitive business questions and identify areas of strategic opportunity.
- Take ownership of projects from planning through execution and delivery, collaborating with partners to ensure deliverables that align with business needs.
- Evangelize sports performance stories and data‑driven decision making throughout the organization.
- Bachelor’s degree in Media, Communications, Statistics, or related field.
- 2+ years of analytical experience working with complex data sets, preferably in the TV/Streaming media industry.
- Proficiency with Nielsen measurement systems (NPower, NNTV); experience with Adobe Analytics, Com Score TV Essentials, and additional media measurement tools.
- Advanced Excel skills;
Tableau, SQL and additional programming languages used for data analysis (e.g., R, Python) are a plus. - Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills, both verbally and in writing.
- Impeccable attention to detail, strong sense of curiosity, and willingness to learn.
- Self‑starter with ability to work collaboratively and independently.
- Passion for sports media; up to date on media landscape and industry trends.
- Hybrid:
The position requires contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week. Beginning January 5, 2026, hybrid employees will be required to work from the office a minimum of four days per week. - This position is eligible for company‑sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks. Salary range: $75,000 - $90,000.
