Assistant Property Manager – Office Building Management

Stamford, CT or Jersey City, NJ
A well-established national commercial real estate company seeks an experienced Assistant Property Manager to support the daily operations of two properties consisting of Class A office buildings located in Stamford, CT and in Jersey City, NJ. This full-time, on-site role requires strong communication and organizational skills, proven proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Word and Excel), and the ability to manage tenant and vendor relations, coordinate maintenance and capital projects, assist with budgeting and financial reporting, and support compliance across both properties.
The position can be based in either the Stamford or Jersey City property, depending on the location of the successful candidate, and will require occasional travel within the tri-state area. Compensation will be $100,000-$115,000 per year with opportunity for bonus.
- Experience:
5-7 years in commercial property management; experience with Class A office building management preferred. - Technical Proficiency:
Microsoft Word and Excel (required); familiarity with Sage Axis/Argus and invoice processing (preferred but not required). - Core
Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication and ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Detail oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills. - Knowledge Areas:
Lease administration, tenant relations, operating budgets, recoveries and recharges, financial and other reporting, maintenance; contracts and contractor management, tenant improvements, and capital projects. - Education & Credentials:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Real Estate, or related field (preferred); CPM or RPA designation is a plus. - Professional Attributes:

Valid driver’s license.
- Serve as landlord’s representative with tenants, contractors, and clients to foster and maintain positive, professional, responsive, and cooperative relationships.
- Respond to tenant needs and resolve problems promptly in accordance with lease requirements.
- Track and review property inspections completed by the Engineering team to ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations and submit such reports to the Risk Manager.
- Assist with budgeting, financial reporting, and accounts payable/receivable.
- Support lease administration and compliance, including accurate interpretation of leases and other property documents (e.g., REAS, OEAS, Maintenance and Service Agreements, Surveys).
- Communicate consistently and clearly with the property management team (Regional Property Manager, Senior Building Engineer, and Junior Building Engineer).
- Participate in collection of COIs insurance/incident reporting.
- Assist and participate in marketing and building promotions.
- Communicate with and assist leasing parties in property lease-up efforts.
- Be available for after-hours emergencies.
- Occasional travel to other property.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Property Manager, Regional Property Manager and/or Asset Manager.
