Purchasing Agent

Overview

Pavarini Northeast Construction in Stamford CT, part of STO Building Group, is looking to add a Purchasing Agent.

• Procurement Management:
  Identify and coordinate the procurement of long lead items, including equipment, materials, and specialized parts; work with project managers, engineers, and vendors to ensure proper selection and timely procurement of items with extended delivery schedules; maintain and update procurement schedules and delivery timelines; assist in the pricing of terms and delivery dates with suppliers.
• Vendor and Supplier Coordination:
  Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, manufacturers, and suppliers of long lead items; communicate and coordinate with suppliers to track production and shipment status; resolve issues related to delays, shortages, or quality control concerns.
• Logistics and Delivery Scheduling:
  Work with logistics teams to arrange timely and safe delivery of long lead items to project sites or storage facilities; coordinate with the project team to ensure equipment is on-site when needed; prepare and manage delivery schedules, including shipping, customs clearance, and handling.
• Inventory and Documentation Management:
  Maintain accurate records of long lead equipment and material orders, including purchase orders, delivery schedules, and receipts; track inventory to ensure items are delivered to the site; ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations regarding sourcing, handling, and delivery.

  Proactively identify potential delays and address them to minimize impact on timelines; develop contingency plans for procurement delays; assist in troubleshooting equipment-related problems during the project phase.
• Collaboration and Reporting:
  Communicate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders on status updates; generate reports and track metrics related to procurement and delivery performance; collaborate with the project management team to adjust plans or schedules as needed.
• Quality Control and Inspection:
  Ensure long lead equipment and materials meet required specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations; coordinate inspections and quality checks of received items before dispatch to the field.

90,000 – 150,000+ based on experience.
