Senior Cloud Engineer
FTE | Stamford, CT or Charlotte, NC | Hybrid (3/2)
Total Comp: $275k+ DOE
Firm OverviewOur client is a leader in global credit investing. The firm oversees $35+ billion in assets through a comprehensive credit platform that includes direct lending, structured credit, and special situations investment strategies.
Key Responsibilities- Architect, design, deploy, manage and lead cloud infrastructure in MS Azure cloud.
- Develop and implement cloud strategies, focusing on automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
- Lead efforts to migrate existing infrastructure and applications to cloud environments.
- Create and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring, and operations across all environments.
- Collaborate with software development and data science teams to ensure seamless deployments of cloud‑native apps.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in pre‑production and production environments.
- Implement and manage continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members on cloud technologies and best practices.
- Define cloud governance and ensure adherence to standards across the organization.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in cloud technologies.
Required:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related STEM field.
- 5+ years’ experience in cloud engineering across networking, storage, compute, and platforms in MS Azure cloud.
- Extensive experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Cloud Formation, or ARM templates.
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Power Shell, or Bash for automation tasks.
- Strong knowledge of configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
- Experience with containerization technologies and orchestration platforms (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Expertise in designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, Git Lab CI, or Azure Dev Ops.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging solutions such as Cloud Watch, Prometheus, or ELK stack.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently on complex issues.
- Excellent communication skills for leading teams, communicating with stakeholders, and cross‑team collaboration. Knowledge of cloud security best practices and compliance standards.
- Knowledgeable in data security and privacy requirements; with applicability to the financial industry a plus.
Preferred:
- Relevant cloud certifications in cloud technologies with a preference towards Azure.
- Experience leading a team and/or complex projects.
- A track record of building strong collaborative relationships across an organization.
- Experience with SSPM and/or CSPM technologies.
- Cloud infrastructure cost management, optimization, and efficiency experience.
- A track record of delivering projects that meet strategic business goals.
- A foundational understanding of financial markets and various trading instruments or a willingness to learn.
- The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of implementing large‑scale cloud solutions with a focus on automation.
