- Greeting patients upon arrival to the clinic
- Explaining the benefits of our specialty pharmacy and enrolling patients into the program
- Performing insurance benefit investigations, prior authorization, claim rejects, and overrides
- Working with patients to find financial aid (grants, manufacturer programs, discount cards, etc.) to ensure access to medications
- Data/order entry and verification of patient information
- Providing direct support to enrolled patients to ensure they are supported throughout their therapy regimen and achieve outcomes, including:
- Outbound phone calls for patient support, adherence checks, and refill reminders
- Appropriate triaging of clinical questions to the appropriate clinician (pharmacist, nurse, or provider)
- Participation in conferences and workshops to promote CPS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Registered, or ability to become registered, as a pharmacy technician in the State of Connecticut
- Experience interacting with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals (preferably in a medical clinic)
- Experience as a pharmacy liaison/technician
- Experience in a health systems specialty pharmacy as an in-clinic technician
- Experience working with various disease states
- Knowledge of benefit investigations, prior authorization support, and patient financial assistance work
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, EMR systems (EPIC, Cerner, or Meditech), and dispensing systems (QS1, RX30, or Computer Rx)
Pay is based on several factors including local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase, and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay range for this role is $17.74 to $31.63 based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
