Tax Associate

Our client, a well-established credit-focused asset manager, is seeking an experienced Senior Tax Professional to support the tax function across a variety of complex investment structures. This role will work closely with internal teams and external advisors on tax compliance, structuring, and planning initiatives across the firm.

This role offers meaningful exposure across the organization and will collaborate with groups such as Investor Relations, Operations, Fund Accounting, Corporate Accounting, and Legal.

• Review partnership and corporate tax filings, including Forms 1065, K-1s, 1120 series, and related state returns
• Analyze financial data to support fund-level tax estimates and reporting
• Review international tax filings including PFIC and CFC reporting
• Coordinate tax information from underlying investments and portfolio companies
• Support tax process improvements and automation initiatives, including the use of AI and data tools
• Assist with tax basis calculations and partner allocations
• Prepare or review quarterly estimated tax payments
• Maintain tax documentation and support ASC 740 requirements
• Oversee FATCA and CRS reporting and assist with new entity formations
• Respond to IRS and state tax notices and assist with state tax filings
• Research technical tax issues and stay current with regulatory developments
• Support special tax projects and ad-hoc initiatives

• 5+ years of tax experience
  , ideally within asset management, private funds, or a Big 4 environment
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience leveraging AI tools to improve workflows
• Exposure to automation and analytics tools such as Alteryx or Power BI is a plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
