Compensation: $45 – $60/hour

Monday to Friday (Hybrid)

Atlantic Group is hiring a Payroll Consultant (Temporary) in Stamford, CT for our client, supporting multi-state payroll processing, tax compliance, and reporting for a corporate workforce. This hybrid role manages end-to-end payroll operations, reconciliations, and regulatory filings, leveraging Workday and advanced Excel to ensure accurate and timely payroll delivery.

Responsibilities as the Payroll Consultant
  • End-to-End Payroll Processing: Manage full-cycle payroll across multiple pay frequencies, ensuring accurate and timely employee payments.
  • Payroll Tax & Compliance Oversight: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and coordinate with external tax filing providers.
  • Payroll Data Validation & Inputs: Partner with HR and Finance to review and validate payroll inputs including timesheets, adjustments, and employee changes.
  • Reconciliations & Financial Accuracy: Reconcile payroll-related general ledger entries with Accounting and support accurate financial reporting.
  • Employee Support & Optimization: Serve as the primary contact for payroll inquiries while identifying opportunities to improve processes and controls.
Qualifications for the Payroll Consultant
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field required.
  • Certification: Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred.
  • Experience: 5+ years of U.S. payroll experience required, including multi-state payroll processing in a corporate environment.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong knowledge of payroll tax regulations and compliance requirements, with experience managing third-party providers and supporting audits preferred.
  • Technical

    Skills:

    Workday payroll experience and advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and data analysis required.
  • Skills & Attributes: Detail-oriented professional with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
