The Senior Tax Associate is a core member of Trove’s Family Tax Division and plays a critical role in delivering high-quality tax compliance and planning support to complex private clients. Building upon the Tax Associate role, this position operates with increased autonomy, technical judgment, and client interaction, while also providing guidance and review support to junior team members.
The Senior Tax Associate partners closely with Tax Managers, Family Office teams, and external advisors to ensure accurate execution, thoughtful planning support, and a seamless client experience. This role offers a clear path toward Manager-level responsibilities.
Responsibilities Tax Compliance & Execution- Prepare and review tax returns for high-net-worth individuals, trusts, and closely held businesses
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations
- Review financial statements and supporting documentation for accuracy and tax compliance
- Inspect and analyze account books for accuracy, efficiency, and potential tax implications
- Identify tax issues, risks, and opportunities and elevate appropriately
- Support clients’ current and future tax planning initiatives
- Apply technical tax knowledge to help minimize tax exposure
- Collaborate with Tax Managers and Family Office professionals on planning strategies
- Serve as a day-to-day contact for assigned client matters
- Communicate with clients and their external advisors clearly and professionally
- Manage timelines, deliverables, and follow-ups across engagements
- Review work prepared by Tax Associates and provide constructive feedback
- Support training and development of junior team members
- Contribute to process improvements and best practices
- Strong technical foundation in individual and closely held business taxation
- Ability to operate independently and collaboratively
- Critical and strategic thinker in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with tax preparation and accounting software
- Exceptional communication, writing, and listening skills
- Team-oriented with high emotional intelligence
- 3–6 years of tax or accounting experience in public accounting, family office, or similar
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- CPA preferred or actively pursuing
- Strong time management and prioritization skills
