Job Overview – Assistant Controller (Hedge Fund)
Compensation: $140,000 – $160,000/year + bonus.
Location:
Stamford, CT.
Schedule:
Monday to Friday (Hybrid).
Atlantic Group is hiring an Assistant Controller (Hedge Fund) in Stamford, CT for our client, supporting hedge fund accounting, NAV oversight, and U.S. GAAP financial reporting across a credit-focused platform. This hybrid role oversees fund accounting and control processes while partnering closely with portfolio management, operations, compliance, and external service providers to support accurate reporting, operational enhancements, and a fast-paced, lean investment environment.
Responsibilitiesas the Assistant Controller (Hedge Fund):
- Fund Accounting & NAV Oversight: Oversee daily and monthly fund accounting processes, including NAV calculations, P&L review, and investor allocations.
- Credit Strategy Accounting: Support accounting and reporting for credit-focused strategies, including loans and structured products.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Administrator Management: Review third-party administrator work, resolve discrepancies, and ensure timely and accurate deliverables.
- Controls, Treasury &
Collaboration:
Support cash and financing activity while maintaining internal controls and partnering cross-functionally on reporting and ad hoc projects.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required (CPA preferred).
- Experience: 5-8 years of hedge fund accounting experience within a hedge fund, fund administrator, or public and private accounting environment.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong experience supporting credit strategies, with knowledge of complex instruments and hedge fund operations.
- Technical
Skills:
Advanced Excel proficiency required, with experience reviewing administrator reporting and financial statements. - Skills & Attributes: Self-directed, analytical professional with strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to operate independently while collaborating across teams.
