What You'll Do as the Chief Estimator

• Craft detailed and accurate estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontracts.

• Cultivate and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.

• Participate in pre‑bid conferences and conduct site visits.

• Evaluate subcontractor scopes of work and analyze quotes for optimal value.

• Generate project bid status reports and ensure adherence to specifications and contract requirements.

• Present cost estimates for customer proposals, factoring in general and special conditions.

• Perform quantity takeoffs, prepare cost summaries, and input data into estimating software.

• Maintain an up‑to‑date database of cost codes for historical reference.

• Leverage company and industry data for accurate pricing estimates.

Must‑Haves as the Chief Estimator

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field.

• 7-10 years of relevant estimating experience.

• Advanced project estimating skills, including value engineering calculations.

• Proficiency in engineering terminology to effectively communicate with various stakeholders.

• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.

• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

• Keen attention to detail.

• Ability to interpret and organize construction plans and specifications.

• Capacity to work independently and manage multiple priorities under pressure.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and database software.

Nice‑To‑Haves as the Chief Estimator
