Accounting Assistant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our team in Stamford, Connecticut. This is a Contract to permanent position offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to essential financial operations. The role will involve supporting various accounting functions to ensure accuracy and efficiency in day-to-day activities.

Responsibilities:

- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and efficiently.

- Post journal entries and maintain organized financial records.

- Manage bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy in account balances.

- Handle checks and coding invoices as part of routine financial operations.

- Assist in preparing audit reports and ensuring compliance with financial standards.

- Utilize Quick Books and other procurement software to streamline accounting tasks.

- Collaborate with the head accountant to support ongoing financial efforts and reporting.

- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in handling sensitive financial information. Requirements - Proven experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.

- Proficiency in Quick Books and other accounting software.

- Strong knowledge of bank reconciliation procedures.

- Ability to accurately code invoices and maintain organized records.

- Familiarity with preparing audit reports and ensuring compliance.

- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Effective communication skills to work collaboratively with team members.

- Ability to work onsite Monday through Friday for approximately 30 hours per week.
