Senior Accounting Analyst

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Accountant to support financial reporting, technical operations accounting, and compliance initiatives within a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a complex operational setting and enjoys working cross-functionally with finance, operations, auditors, and vendors.

Position Overview

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for preparing and analyzing monthly, quarterly, and annual account roll forwards, supporting expense analysis, assisting with SOX compliance documentation, and managing technical operations billing activities. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual balance sheet roll forward schedules

  • Perform expense analysis and provide variance explanations

  • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations in accordance with GAAP

  • Determine and record accruals for assigned accounts

  • Track and analyze expenditures related to long-term projects, aircraft overhauls, and repairs

  • Code, route, and process invoices

  • Manage billing for engine changes, thrust reversers, APUs, landing gear, and component loans

  • Monitor and collect receivables related to technical operations

  • Communicate with vendors regarding invoices and account balances

  • Assist with documentation and remediation of SOX Section 404 controls

  • Support internal and external audit requests

  • Participate in special projects and be available to work extended hours as needed

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field

  • 3–5 years of accounting experience

  • Experience working with public reporting companies

  • Strong understanding of GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley (especially Section 404)

  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, P&L analysis, and cost-benefit analysis

  • Ability to interpret and summarize accounting impacts of long-term contracts

  • Advanced Excel and strong overall PC skills

  • Experience working with large datasets

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines

  • JD Edwards and Black Line experience preferred
