Accountant, Accounting Manager, Financial Reporting

Description

We are looking for a skilled Accountant to join our team in Stamford, Connecticut, as part of a dynamic and growing company in the advertising industry. In this role, you will play a key part in managing global real estate accounting operations, including leasing, facility management, and strategic financial activities. This is a long-term contract position that offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to essential accounting functions while collaborating with a dedicated team.

Responsibilities:

- Perform general ledger activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

- Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes, including invoice handling and payment reconciliation.

- Conduct bank reconciliations and monitor associated depreciation activities.

- Prepare and analyze journal entries, ensuring proper documentation and timely submission.

- Utilize Microsoft Great Plains Accounting software to execute accounting tasks efficiently.

- Handle accrual accounting processes, including general accruals and reporting.

- Collaborate with the real estate team to support lease negotiations and facility management accounting.

- Develop and maintain complex Excel spreadsheets, including formulas and data analysis.

- Support financial strategy by producing detailed reports and insights

+ Support monthly close, journal entries, and account reconciliations

+ Assist in financial reporting, variance analysis, and consolidations

+ Maintain general ledger accuracy and support AP/AR operations

+ Maintain general ledger accuracy and support for intercompany transactions

+ Partner with teams to ensure proper coding & documentation

+ Support audits and internal control improvements

+ Special projects as assigned by management

Requirements - Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate or similar industries.

- Proficiency in Great Plains Accounting software.

- Advanced skills in Excel, including formulas and data manipulation.

- Strong understanding of general ledger activities and accrual accounting.

- Experience with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.

- Ability to perform bank reconciliations and depreciation tracking.

- Familiarity with journal entries and financial analysis.

- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
