Sr. Accountant

Description

Our client in the Lower Fairfield, CT area has an opening for a Senior Accountant. The Senior Accountant requires someone with strong attention to detail and extensive experience in accounting, financial reporting, and general ledger management. The role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to key accounting functions while collaborating across departments to ensure accuracy and compliance. This is a 6-month consulting engagement with a growing and prominent organization!

Responsibilities:

- Manage monthly close processes, including preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts to ensure financial accuracy.

- Perform detailed variance analyses and assist in consolidating financial reports.

- Ensure the integrity of the general ledger and oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable operations.

- Handle intercompany transactions, ensuring proper coding and documentation.

- Collaborate with various teams to maintain accurate financial records and support compliance requirements.

- Assist in audit preparation and contribute to improving internal controls.

- Analyze accruals and depreciation while ensuring proper accounting treatment.

- Utilize advanced Excel skills to create Pivot Tables, perform data analysis, and streamline reporting processes.

- Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by management.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

- A minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting roles, preferably in the real estate industry.

- Expertise in month-end close processes, journal entries, and account reconciliations.

- Advanced skills in Excel, including proficiency with Pivot Tables, formulas, and data analysis.

- Strong knowledge of accruals, depreciation, and audit preparation.

- Ability to work on-site five days per week.

- Excellent organizational and analytical skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
