Skillforce is seeking Electrician Journeyman for a commercial project in Spotsylvania, VA. This position requires a deep understanding of electrical codes, blueprints, and safety protocols to deliver high-quality workmanship that meets regulatory standards. The ideal candidate has experience with measuring, cutting, bending, and installing conduit (EMT, rigid, PVC) using hand and power tools.
Pay Range: $33-35
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid Journeyman Electrician license or certification recognized in the United States.
- Must be able to pass a background screen and drug screen.
- Completion of an accredited electrical apprenticeship program or equivalent work experience.
- Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local electrical regulations.
- Proven experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in residential, commercial, or industrial environments.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and automated control systems.
- Familiarity with energy-efficient electrical systems and renewable energy technologies.
- Certification in OSHA safety standards or equivalent workplace safety training.
- Experience using advanced diagnostic tools and software for electrical troubleshooting.
- Strong communication and leadership skills to mentor apprentices and coordinate with project teams.
- Interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
- Ensure all electrical work complies with national and local electrical codes, safety standards, and company policies.
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems to identify and resolve potential issues before they escalate.
- Collaborate with team members, including apprentices and other tradespeople, to complete projects efficiently and safely.
- Diagnose electrical problems using specialized tools and equipment, and implement effective solutions to restore functionality.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each project.
- Stay current with industry developments, new technologies, and best practices to continuously improve skills and service quality.
