General Purpose

The Area Supervisor is a member of Store Leadership, responsible for a specific, assigned area of the Store and for general operations when serving as Manager on Duty. Duties include opening and closing the Store, supervising Associates, maintaining a friendly environment, ensuring proper merchandise presentation and overseeing Company operational processes.

Core Responsibilities
  • Maintain safe & secure environments – practice safe behaviors, monitor sales floor, report unsafe conditions, secure building, test fire alarms, respond to alarms.
  • Customer Service – treat all customers, associates and leaders with respect, demonstrate courtesy and professionalism, recognize Associates.
  • Represent the Company brand – maintain professional appearance, enforce Dress Code, keep all areas clean and merchandised.
  • General merchandising – ensure recovery, sizing, markdowns, receive merchandise, process inbound deliveries, maintain stockrooms, assist with floor moves and re‑wrapping.
  • Loss Prevention – comply with the Loss Prevention Awareness Program, maintain Presence, conduct package inspections, safeguard confidential information.
  • Front End Supervision & Operations – maximize productivity, train associates on registers, control break schedules, maintain equipment, ensure compliance with cash handling policies.
  • Fitting Room oversight – maintain cleanliness, audit tags, ensure go‑back compliance.
  • Administrative duties – conduct cash pulls, bank deposits, manage payroll administration, support front‑end control and other Store Manager assignments.

Qualifications & Special Skills
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with point‑of‑sale equipment and applications.
  • Basic mathematical calculations for retail environments.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends.
Physical Requirements / ADA
  • Use all store equipment (PDTs, registers, PC).
  • Stand, walk and move around store up to 100% of working time.
  • Regularly bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach and stoop.
  • Occasionally push, pull and lift more than 25 lbs (stockroom shifts may require >20 lbs).
  • Use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders and other supplies.
