Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist with at least 1 year of experience and BLS plus Nuclear Medicine certification for a 13-week assignment.

• Work in a short-term acute care hospital with a Trauma II designation
• Unit specializes in Nuclear Medicine procedures for adult inpatients and outpatients, including emergencies and adult ICU cases
• Daily caseload averages 5 cases
• Shift is Monday-Wednesday, 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM, with on-call coverage Monday-Wednesday, 7:00 PM to 6:30 AM, plus two to three weekends of call per month and holiday coverage
• No floating to other units or facilities is required
• Uses Epic EMR and GE nuclear medicine equipment
• Scrub color is Caribbean blue
• Duties include performing a range of nuclear medicine procedures and maintaining IV access as needed
• First-time travelers accepted
• Holiday coverage is required
• Block scheduling and RTO requests considered at manager’s discretion
• Return staff must have a 1-year gap before returning as travelers
• Up to 8 hours of orientation modules must be completed within 1 week of signing
• Travel pairs are not permitted

• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in outpatient, inpatient, ER, and adult ICU settings
• Current BLS required
• CNMT or ARRT (Nuclear Medicine) certification or registry eligible at time of hire (registry must be passed within one year if eligible)
• NMTCB or ARRT Advanced Certification preferred
• IV start skills and experience with bone, brain, lung scans, gastric emptying, hepatobiliary, thyroid studies, tumor localization, and shunt procedures
• Experience with PACS and GE equipment preferred
• Experience working in a trauma hospital setting
• Valid state license required if applicable
