Product designs are provided by headquarters; however, local engineering is responsible for identifying issues, making necessary fixes, and implementing changes to support production.
Compensation: $100k to $120 k
Location:
Stafford, VA
Schedule:
Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm
Responsibilitie
- Review mechanical designs received from headquarters and adapt them for manufacturability and assembly
- Identify design gaps, issues, or inefficiencies and implement practical fixes
- Design and build fixtures, tooling, and production aids
- Support prototype builds, first articles, pilot runs, and ramp to production
- Work hands-on on the manufacturing floor with assemblers and technicians
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues during assembly, testing, and ATP
- Create and maintain drawings, BOMs, ECNs, and work instructions
- Support layout planning and setup of a new manufacturing floor
- Proven hands-on mechanical engineering experience (design + build)
- Strong understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes
- Demonstrated ability to turn incomplete or imperfect designs into working products
- Motivated, eager to work, and positive attitude
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, startup environment with limited structure
- Solid practical engineering judgment preferred over theory-only background
- Willingness to travel as needed
