Position SummaryThe Ordnance Test Facility Specialist will plan, execute, and document developmental and operational tests for Marine Corps infantry weapons. Working closely with Program Offices, CD&I, test ranges, and safety authorities, this specialist ensures test activities are safe, technically sound, and standards compliant.
Key Responsibilities- Develop T&E plans, test procedures, schedules, and resource estimates.
- Coordinate range resources, instrumentation, ammunition, test articles, and safety approvals.
- Lead or support live-fire trials and reliability/maintainability events.
- Enforce compliance with Physical Security and Arms, Ammunition, and Explosives policies.
- Enforce weapons safety, range SOPs, and hazard mitigations.
- Oversee data collection systems and ensure data integrity.
- Perform data analysis and produce formal test reports.
- Assess weapon integration with optics, suppressors, mounts, and targeting systems.
- Work with program offices, engineers, and operators to prioritize testing.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, armament/ordinance, or related field.
- 5–8+ years of experience in weapons testing, small arms systems, or test facility operations.
- Experience with live-fire testing and instrumentation.
- Ability to draft test plans and formal test reports.
- Knowledge of ballistics, reliability metrics, and ergonomics.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to pass an AA&E Personnel Screening, to perform duties involving weapon systems and ammunition.
- Experience supporting USMC infantry weapons programs.
- Familiarity with DoD/USMC T&E processes.
- Certifications in T&E, test safety, or range safety.
- Experience with failure analysis and corrective actions.
- Experience with range request and scheduling systems.
- Experience with ammunition inventory and forecasting system.
- Experience with weapons handling, shipment, transportation, and accountability policy and procedures.
- Experience with USMC maintenance policy and procedures.
- Experience with Product Quality Deficiency Reporting process, with emphasis on action point support.
- Ability to qualify with a security weapon and to serve as armed security.
- Onsite at test facilities and ranges.
- Exposure to live-fire environments with proper PPE.
- Occasional travel to ranges, depots, or vendor locations.
This position is contingent upon winning award. Salary Requirements are $90,000 - $110,000 (Based on experience).
