What you will do:
  • Independently chair Looked After Child Reviews
    , ensuring all statutory requirements and timescales are met
  • Develop and scrutinise care plans
    , addressing permanency, stability, education, health, and emotional wellbeing
  • Monitor progress and accountability
    , ensuring agreed actions are implemented effectively
  • Provide independent challenge to social workers and managers where practice improvements are required
  • Escalate concerns appropriately
    , using the IRO dispute resolution process when necessary
  • Ensure children’s and young people’s views are central
    , actively advocating for their voices to be heard
  • Oversee cases subject to care proceedings
    , ensuring timely and effective safeguarding and permanency planning
  • Identify and act on safeguarding concerns promptly and robustly
  • Maintain high-quality records and contribute to audits and service development
