Overview
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Band 6/7 registered nurse looking to expand their management and leadership skills in running a nurse-led haemodialysis satellite unit at County Hospital.
The unit has 12 stations and operates Mon – Sat including a twilight session on Mon/Wed/Fri.
Responsibilities- Provide leadership and support to the dialysis unit team in delivering haemodialysis treatment to patients.
- Provide clinical, professional and managerial leadership to the unit team, ensuring high standards of research-based practice and clinical care.
- Use teaching, facilitation and supervisory skills to develop and maintain safe, competent practice within a clinical environment conducive to reflective practice.
- Manage staff including sickness management, rostering, and performance reviews, and be responsible for finance including management of the unit budget and health and safety.
- Act as the first point of contact for patients and relatives and be responsible for the management of complaints, care and coordination of dialysis patient transport as required.
- Ensure that nursing staff within areas of responsibility in the dialysis unit are developed to offer a professional, skilled, competent and high-quality service.
