Overview
University Hospitals of North Midlands is currently unable to provide sponsorship this role. Job Title: Support Medical Secretary/Trauma & Orthopaedics
Location: Royal Stoke University Hospital, UHNM
Hours: 30 hours per week
Responsibilities- The post holder is required to support the Medical Secretary Team Leader in the delivery of a comprehensive administrative service to a specialty team.
- Involved in inpatient waiting list management for a specialty, in accordance with the Patient Access Policy, communicating appointment and admission related information to patients and carers and typing correspondence and/or transcribing and typing up of minutes as appropriate.
- Take direction from the Medical Secretary Team Leader and Operational Services Manager for the day to day running of the service.
- Manage own time and prioritise workload to ensure clinical letters are accurately typed in chronological order/clinical priority.
- Work well under pressure in a busy work environment.
- Support the Medical Secretary Team Leader and specialty team in the delivery of inpatient waiting list management, taking into account application of national RTT rules and assistance in the appropriate utilisation of theatres.
