We have an exciting opportunity for a part time Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy Team at HMP Drake Hall, a women’s closed prison, located near the town of Eccleshall in Staffordshire with around 340 female inmates. The Pharmacy is a centralised dispensary based within the healthcare department.

- 7.15am - 7.15pm
- 12 week rolling rota
This position is part-time; you’ll receive an annual salary between £29,264 and £33,510 per annum FTE, pro rata depending on experience.

Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK due to the nature of the role. Offer of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.
Main duties of the jobAs a Pharmacy Technician, your responsibilities will vary. You will:
- Provide outstanding quality based patient‑centred care to our patients, seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
- Focus on providing a safe and secure medicines management service, ensuring patient medical records are maintained to the agreed standard at all times and ensuring standard operating procedures are followed to a high and orderly standard.
- Deliver non‑judgemental care within the scope of professional standards. Involving anything from the timely administration of medicines through to analysing cost‑effective prescribing as defined through our unique Health in Justice medicines policy.
- You will make a real difference by working as a key member of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.

Qualifications and experience- NVQ Level 3, or above, BTEC or equivalent
- Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
- Up to date with Continual Professional Development (CPD)
- Relevant post‑qualification pharmacy experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures
- Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
