Aboutthe Role
You will undertake decontamination science duties and assist under the supervision of a Decontamination Supervisor, in providing a specialised decontamination of endoscope medical devices service contributing to the clinical care of the patient. You will also be required to conduct all tasks in the computerised Healthcare Science Information System (tracking and tracing) database.
Key Responsibilities- Collect, receive, clean, disinfect, pack and deliver reusable medical Endoscopes.
- Operate automated endoscope reprocessing equipment and maintain endoscopes and relevant equipment.
- Enter all tasks into the computerised Health Edge Information System (tracking and tracing) database following decontamination guidelines.
- Support the Endoscopy – Theatre – Women’s Health service at Staffordshire Treatment Suite.
- Good standard of literacy and numeracy, and basic IT skills.
- Ability to work effectively using initiative, both within a team and independently, in a fast‑paced challenging environment.
- Eagerness to learn and to train towards achieving Local Decontamination Standards and National Decontamination Standards.
