Systems Engineer – Government & Support TeamKalman & Company is hiring a Systems Engineer to perform technical planning and analysis of system requirements and documentation. The role will support Marine Corps system programs, manage program cost and risk, and work closely with Engineering Integrated Product Teams.
Responsibilities- Support the development, revision, and update of systems engineering documents (e.g., Information Support Plan, Systems Engineering Plan, Test & Evaluation Plan).
- Coordinate and support Engineering Integrated Product Teams and develop meeting minutes.
- Assist with developing test plans, events, and reports, and support the execution of Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (SETR) and Physical Configuration Audits (PCA).
- Analyze concepts, design, fabrication, test, operation, maintenance, and disposal of Marine Corps systems.
- Transform customer requirements into executable and operational products.
- Identify, assess, and document technical risks; provide engineering input to Program Integrated Government Schedules and program briefs.
- Support the development of Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and maintain documentation through MCSC Change Initiation Processes.
- Conduct functional and configuration audits, develop closeout memoranda, and support verification and validation (V&V) activities.
- Work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining excellent customer‑facing and internal communications skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (or 6 years in lieu of a degree).
- 5–7 years of systems engineering and technical support experience, including DoD systems engineering, requirement interpretation, design development, and test & evaluation.
- Experience with Marines Corps systems program offices or similar engineering organizations.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent technical, written, and verbal communication skills with a solid understanding of the Marine Corps mission.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
- US Citizenship.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an Active Secret Clearance.
- Experience with DoD systems engineering, including the preparation of systems engineering documents.
- Prior Marine Corps experience is a plus.
